2016年普林斯顿大学物理竞赛（亚洲赛区）

第二轮通知

    第三届普林斯顿大学物理竞赛（PUPC）将于2016年11月19日星期六举行

    作为亚洲分赛区，我校于2015年11月成功举办了第二届普林斯顿大学物理竞赛，且影响显著(http://physics.princeton.edu/pupc/2015/china.htm)。此竞赛旨在为高中学生提供一个平台来展示他们解决特殊物理问题的技能, 并通过创新性研究从当今物理学领域学习新概念、领略物理的美妙，与此同时争夺竞赛奖项。本次竞赛我校将继续承办亚洲分赛，为亚洲分赛场。

    此次普林斯顿大学物理竞赛得到了普林斯顿大学物理系、天体物理系官方的大力支持。竞赛的具体工作是由普林斯顿物理学会的本科生和研究生全权主持开展的。竞赛的基本规划是由PUPC常驻委员、部分主持第一届竞赛的核心成员和此次竞赛的组织人员共同制定的。

南方科技大学分赛点考试流程：

（北京时间）

11月19日

 上午9:00-12:00：报到  地点：第一教学楼110教室

 下午12:00-1:00：午饭

 下午2:00-4:00：现场测试  地点：第一教学楼110教室

 下午5:00：扫描答卷并发送给普林斯顿大学评委组

每个赛点参赛者单独评分排名，比赛结果在一周后通知。

每个参赛者将进行个人现场测试，测试内容包含若干力学问题(运动学和动力学)。个人测试限时2小时，在这过程中不允许交流讨论。

Notice on Princeton University Physics Competition 2016 (Asia chapter)

The 2016 Princeton University Physics Competition will take place in November 19, 2016

As a sub-contest area, the second annual Princeton University Physics Competition (PUPC) has been held in November 2015 at our school and achieved great influences (http://physics.princeton.edu/pupc/

2015/china.htm). It aims to provide high school students with a venue to exhibit their skills in solving non-ordinary physics problems, learn new concepts from present-day areas of physics undergoing groundbreaking research,  develop their inner intuition of the beauty of physics, while at the same time competing for awards. The PUPC has established an international chapter at our University as the only testing centre of Asia.

The PUPC is now officially supported by both the Department of Physics and the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. The competition is organized and run entirely by undergraduate and graduate students affiliated with the Princeton Society of Physics Students. The broad strategy is developed collegially by members of the PUPC Permanent Board, consisting of core organizers of the first year's edition and organizers of the current edition.

Schedule( China Standard Time):

November 19

  9:00-12:00 am: Register held in 110 of the Teaching Building Ⅰ

  12:00-13:00 pm: Lunch

  2:00 - 4:00 pm : Onsite Test held in 110 of the Teaching Building Ⅰ

  5:00 pm:  Scan the paper and sent to Princeton University

  Contestants at each international chapter will be ranked separately from the other chapters and the result will come just over a week after exam.

Each participant of PUPC will take one individual onsite test, which will contain several problems in Mechanics (kinematics and dynamics). The individual test will have a time limit of two hours. And participants are NOT allowed to collaborate on this part of the competition.
