Professor Wenqing Zhang is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a winner of the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), and a Chief Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program of China. His research focuses on the design and realization of high-performance thermoelectric materials, physics of electrical-thermal transport and electron-phonon interactions, design of high-performance thermoelectric materials, properties of low-dimensional heterostructures, and deep learning. His research methodologies encompass first-principles calculations, molecular dynamics, high-throughput computational screening, and machine learning. He has authored over 300 SCI-indexed papers in prestigious journals such as Nature Mater., PNAS, JACS, and has delivered more than 100 invited talks at international conferences.
