Students of SUSTC do not choose major until they finish their first 2 years learning of fundamental science knowledge. This year, 388 students of grade 2012 are going to choose their major before they go to the third grade. 

       To foster knowledge of the research field of Physics among students, Department of Physics held an Introduction Presentation of Physics towards grade 2012.

       The meeting was hosted by professor Chen Lang and lasted about 2 hours. Professor Tang Shuxian, member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, also attended the presention and gave a speech. He explained to students what physics was all about. Physics department will continue this tradition to keep close communication with students.
